Session Spotlight:
"Inclusion U" and the Inclusivity Assessment Tool

People with disabilities consistently express the need for accurate and specific information about physical and social accessibility of recreation opportunities.  This session will discuss a model project in New York State that is helping to promote and sustain inclusive recreation.  Using a training program, "Inclusion U," volunteer participants learn about inclusion and how to assess the physical, administrative, and programmatic inclusion at recreation areas and facilities, using the newly developed Inclusivity Assessment Tool.  This session will provide the condensed version of the training, and provide an in-depth overview and training in the use of the Inclusivity Assessment Tool. At the conclusion of the session, participants will take the "Inclusion U" final exam and become certified Inclusivity Assessors.
